chasy cat

bindicoots watch out If you are a bindicoot, I do think you should watch for this. It sounds totally dangerous.
What I found as funny as the name of the product is that “Chasy Cat” has this lovely tear-off dispenser but the grocer has stocked it with the ‘Laxman Rekha’ cockroach repellent.
Which reminds me of the BEST ever sign for “krezy rat maar” painted on the Mahim causeway wall. The tagline, in Hindi, read “choohon ka encounter kar de“.

Yes, for one day only, ladies, gentlemen, there’s a tootalz sale on tootally everything.
And, gasp, it’s the name of the store.

*facepalm* What were they thinking???

But “diffencer”? Now that’s a new one. I’m beyond baffled. I’m … my brain is in a knot. I need to rest. Tootal rest.
Tootles, everyone 😉

P.s. Test your Mumbai GK: do you know where this is?

and by the title of this post I mean me, not this guys. This is not the best action shot, but take it from me, they were having a helluva lot of fun. The cynic in me wonders what infections they picked up, but their unfettered enthusiasm made me think, if I swallowed sea water and dirt regularly, maybe my immunity would improve and I could also run around uninhibited. Erm, but maybe not.

beenceHouse warmings are such fun to attend. Invariably everything isn’t quite in place yet, the host/hostess can’t find the glasses or the bottle opener; the person who was to bring the ice is stuck in traffic; decorations aren’t up yet… but this one I went to recently was much better put together. They even managed to keep this lit for a good … uh, 5 minutes? Pretty, no? And symbolic, I thought – beginnings, ends, all looping around each other.

and then the sky turned orange and the last light reached glowing fingers into my room, tapped me on the shoulder, made me leave my desk and take this photo.

beenceLook at that hair. do you see it? Do you? Do you? I spotted her one morning in Mumbai traffic, walking with grace in a simple, clean, ironed saree with a matching blouse. And shoes. Nothing about her suggested mendicant or even very poor. But that hair … woah! I want to know the story behind it. I really, really do!

Champions League Right then, so if YOU know what the Gita Champions League is, you have to tell me. I, too, want to ‘discover the Arjuna in [me]. Seriously! I passed this poster near Worli – but didn’t see anyone to ask.
I’m dying to know … can we see archery fights? Like the TV Mahabharat of yore? Oooh, that would be exciting. Maybe at the Ram Leela Maidan!
Can I dress up too? Is there training?

mango, mangone

I’m sad to bid farewell to my favorite fruit for another year. This year seemed less full of mango mania but I got aam-ras a few times and sampled all the varieties. I missed 3 weeks of rain and mangoes this summer but … oh well. Got this giant chaunsa on their way out. I have large hands and this one was … ginormous! And a luscious mouthful from every side. Farewell mangoes … until next year then!
And thank god for custard apples 🙂
